Our Wild Adventure at Waimakariri River Offroad Trails, Christchurch, NZ
A couple of weekends back the E-Mega team geared up to go at the Waimakariri River Offroad Trails. Armed with our trusty Sur-Ron Light Bee X bikes, we were ready for some action.
As we hit the trails, the excitement was palpable. The Light Bee X bikes were like eager stallions ready to conquer the wilderness, and we were the fearless jockeys... Ok maybe not fearless, but excited none the less. Our mission? To put these electric beasts through their paces.
The Hill-Climbing Ability:
Our first challenge was a daunting hill climb that looked like it could give even the most seasoned riders a run for their money. It was a timed race to the top, and, of course, there had to be some friendly banter about who would reach the peak fastest.
But just as we thought we had it all figured out, a particularly tricky bumpy section sent a couple of us into unplanned acrobatics. There were a few close calls, and we exchanged a few laughs and playful jabs about who had the most "graceful" dismount. Who knew hill climbing could be so entertaining?
We were all thoroughly impressed with how effortlessly these things climbed. The hill was a super steep grassy hill! We all took a couple of run-ups before actually committing to a proper attempt. In the end those of us who knew how to pick a good line (not through the rather large bumps lol) made it up much easier than we had expected! The torque just kept us climbing right up with no feeling of loss of power!
So, how did we go on a moto track? :
Once we conquered the hills (or, in some cases, the hills conquered us), it was time to hit the small motocross track. The Light Bee X bikes handled the jumps and turns like pros, and it didn't take long before a little friendly competition kicked in.
There were overtakes, daredevil stunts, and more than one attempt to catch some air. We couldn't resist showing off our motocross skills, even if they were a tad rusty. The bikes responded with power and agility, and we couldn't help but feel like we were part of an off-road racing championship.
